Craig Ventresco - Guitar
CRAIG VENTRESCO - GUITAR
For many years Craig Ventresco led the San Francisco-based band Bo Grumpus
and has played most of the trad jazz festivals. He has also toured widely as
a soloist specializing in ragtime-era compositions. He is featured on the
soundtracks to films "Crumb" and "Ghostworld." Craig is a compulsive record
collector specializing in ragtime on cylinders and discs made before 1910.
Since moving to New York two years ago, he has played with a number of trad
jazz bands. He also continues to play ragtime, both solo and with
multi-instrumentalist Meredith Axelrod. Recent recording credits include
discs for Origin Jazz Library, Stomp Off, Rydodisc and Shanachie.
