Bob, from Quincy, Il, left town in '55 to tour with Ralph Flanagan. In '56 he joined George Girrard's Jazz Band in NO, and in '57 moved to Al Hirt's newly formed band. While in NO, Bob recorded with most of the town's top jazz players. In 1960, he joined the Lawrence Welk Orchestra (for 22 years) as featured soloist. Since '82, Bob has appeared at all major jazz festivals, parties and concerts, and playing often with Bob Crosby's Bob Cats and the Benny Goodman Orchestra led by Peanuts Hucko. Bob did a nine-month gig at the Lawrence Welk Theatre in Branson, MO. After living in Simi Valley, CA, for many years, Bob and his family have returned to Quincy, IL. concerts, festivals and parties.
