Marty Grosz, say the critics, is today's foremost jazz rhythm guitarist and chord soloist. Son of painter George Grosz, Marty was born in Berlin, Germany, and moved to NY at the age of three. In 1950 he cut his first record with a band that included Dick Wellstood and Pops Foster. He visited Chicago in '54 and stayed 20 years, playing with Albert Ammons, Floyd O'Brien, Art Hodes, and Jim Lannigan. He returned to NY in '75 to join the Soprano Summit. He has recorded extensively and is in great demand for festivals and parties.
