DICK WALDBURGER is a native New Yorker. He began his musical career on piano but took up the bass while in his 30s. He became a regular in the N.Y. area playing with Doc Cheatham, Kenny Davern,Vic Dickinson, Wild Bill, John Bunch and Joe Bushkin. He played steadily at Eddie Condon's, most notably with Condon's Hot Lunch with Tom Artin and Pee Wee Erwin. He has made numerous appearances with the International Art and jazz Ensemble with Ed Polcer, Ken Peplowski and Mark Shane, and is a longtime stalwart with the Gotham jazzmen and the New Broadway Rhythm Devils.
