Bobby is a native of NY where he studied with the great jazz clarinetist Joe Marsala. Bobby was the house clarinetist at Eddie Condon's in NY from '77 to '80. He was worked with Wild Bill Davison, Bobby Hackett, Muggsy Spanier, and had a long association with Jim Cullum's Band in San Antonio. Bobby's sound on the clarinet is distinctive, in the best tradition of Joe Marsala, Pee Wee Russell, Jimmie Noone and Frank Teschmacher. He has recorded extensively with Leon Redbone, Jim Cullum, Hal Smith and Marty Grosz. Today, Bobby lives in San Diego where he leads his own quartet, and plays with swing era veterans such as Bob Haggart and John Best.
